Omar Alonso is a senior engineering manager at Instacart working on knowledge graphs and large scale labeling. He teaches the IR course at Northeastern and he is the co-organizer of DESIRES, a new information retrieval conference with a focus on system implementation and experimental design. He holds a PhD from UC Davis
